M-Bus training course

generation and transmission planning

One-day training course that has been developed to offer telecommunication professionals the opportunity to obtain up-to-date information on the M-Bus communication standard.

Correct exchange of meter data is vitally important in the liberalised energy market. The M-Bus standard is a European standard that specifies secure communication and remote readout of devices which are usually battery powered like heat meters, water meters and gas meters. M-Bus specifies both wired and wireless communication.

The course provides in-depth insight into the M-Bus standard and how this communication standard is used to support smart meter functionalities. It covers both the wired and wireless part of the M-Bus standard, as well as the security profiles. Some smart meter projects are mentioned in which M-bus is used and attention is devoted to recent or ongoing evolution of the standard. During the training, participants have the opportunity to discuss questions or experiences with M-Bus devices.
