DNV GL at the AFMASS Conference & Exhibition

DNV GL – Business Assurance is honoured to participate for the 1st time to the 3rd Edition of the African Food Manufacturing & Safety Summit (AFMASS) Conference & Expo in Nairobi, Kenya.

The AFMASS Conference represent one of the most important event for the food sector in Africa. It provides the most important route to sub-Saharan Africa's food and beverage, food service, baking, milling and animal feed industry.

The event is well appreciated for the quality of visitors, delegates, speakers and panellists; the coverage of current issues and future trends that resonate with the sector and the region; the variety of local, regional and international brands that continue to use the event to reach into the region's industry with their products and services. The event is attracting more than 400 delegates and 2000 trade visitors with a program of 2 conference streams, 3 core areas representing 1 big opportunity to network, trade and learn.

The 3rd edition is going to be held in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, from 25th to 27th April 2017, with the following theme: “Focus on current and emerging issues in Africa's food and beverage storage, distribution, manufacturing, packaging, food service, marketing, retailing and consumer safety in Africa”

During the second day on April 26th, DNV GL will lead 25 minutes’ presentation and discussion about Food Safety & Management Systems. The speaker of this session will be Mme Maritawa Zipporah – Technical coordinator Food schemes at DNV GL Business Assurance. The session will showcase how improvement tools, technologies, regulations and practices can ensure safe products and facilities with a focus on the food, beverages and food service and hospitality industry.

Located at the business-friendly Visa Oshwal Centre within the Westlands suburb of Nairobi, AFMASS 2017 is expected to be attended by the key decision makers from the food, feed and hospitality industry in sub-Saharan Africa region; regional and international suppliers; Government regulatory officials; and NGOs involved in food and feed industry supply chain from sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.
