DNV GL is a GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Body approved for Flowers & Ornamentals Certification Standard
DNV GL has completed all the steps of the GLOBALG.A.P. approval process for Flowers & Ornamentals Certification Standard.
DNV GL is now a globally GLOBALG.A.P. Certification Body approved for Flowers & Ornamentals Certification Standard. Among others it can operate in Africa countries as Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan and South Africa.
The GLOBALG.A.P. Flowers & Ornamentals Standard Version defines clear criteria to ensure Good Agricultural Practices in nurseries and floriculture farms.
The standard covers all stages of production from pre-harvest activities such as soil management, propagation material, integrated plant management, and fertilizer use to responsible water use, environment and conservation, hygiene and security measures during harvest, and worker’s health, safety and welfare.
The GLOBALG.A.P. Flowers & Ornamentals Standard is designed to help improve farm management, raise the efficiency of farm operations, protect environmental resources, and enable access to international markets around the world.
DNV GL can conduct also the Risk Assessment on Social Practice (GRASP).
GRASP stands for GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice and is a voluntary ready-to-use module developed to assess social practices on the farm, addressing specific aspects of workers’ health, safety and welfare.
Designed to complement GLOBALG.A.P. Certification towards social aspects, GRASP measures can be assessed together with the GLOBALG.A.P. audit. A GLOBALG.A.P. GRASP helps producers establish a good social management system on their farms. It offers buyers added assurance. And it helps protect one of the farm’s most important resources: its people.
