What is UTZ Certified certification?

UTZ Certified is a certified product label for sustainable agriculture which in turn leads to sustainable products. The label was started by Ahold and a coffee producer in Guatemala and has expanded globally since then. UTZ Certified is a foundation that aims to make sustainable agriculture the standard through the implementing of a global certification standard and to provide traceability and transparency for professional, social and environmentally friendly production and product sourcing.

UTZ Certified certification

UTZ Certified is a global certification program. By purchasing UTZ certified coffee, tea and chocolate, you know exactly where it comes from and how it was produced. UTZ Certified products have been certified across throughout the entire supply chain. UTZ Certified farmers grow their produce with care and attention to people and the environment.

Certification against UTZ Certified

Sustainable farmers and producers wishing to be UTZ Certified follow the sustainable Code of Conduct. This is a standard in which all the requirements are set out which farmers need to adhere to become UTZ Certified. Consumers are increasingly demanding to know where their products come from, and that they have been sourced in a responsible manner. The certification scheme covers several areas, such as traceability, environment, social aspects and correct use of the UTZ logo. The entire supply chain needs to demonstrate the traceability and integrity of UTZ certified products from other products. UTZ Certified can integrate very well with other audits such as BRC, IFS, ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000.
