ISO 50001 Auditor Conversion Training Course

A three-day course delivered in a classroom environment or online. Participant evaluation is through continuous assessment during the training course and a closed book examination (1 hour and 40 minutes) at the end of the course.

This fast-track lead auditor course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second- and third-party audits of management systems against the requirements of the ISO 50001:2018, in accordance with the guidance given in the ISO 19011 for first- and second-party audits as well as the requirements of the ISO 17021 for third party audits.

This course has been registered and certificated by the CQI and IRCA Governing Body and satisfies the formal training requirements for individuals seeking registration under CQI and IRCA or other auditor certification schemes.

Objective

For successful completion of this course, it is expected that attendees have prior knowledge of the following management principles and concepts:

  • The PDCA cycle 
  • Energy management
  • Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 50001 and the commonly used energy management terms and definitions, which may be gained by completing a Foundation training course in ISO 50001:2018

Upon successful completion attendees will gain a thorough understanding of:

  • Energy Management Systems – What and why, including the HLS
  • ISO 50001:2018 purpose and requirements from an auditing perspective.
  • How to plan & conduct audits
  • Audit communication
  • Value-added audit reporting and follow-up

Audience

Participants should hold a valid lead auditor certificate for a full five-day course, in Quality, EMS or equivalent. Such a certificate is mandatory in order to apply for CQI and IRCA Auditor Certification. This course is recommended for anyone who is planning to perform internal audits/preparing to become an external auditor of energy management systems as per ISO 50001 standard.
