Extending Horizons in African Aquaculture: A Landmark Certification Achievement in Tunisia

Aquaculture is quickly gaining popularity in Africa, as countries seek to increase production to meet rising consumer demand for fish and seafood. With nearly 2 million people working in the business, aquaculture has the potential to significantly contribute to the region's food security and economic development. Tunisia, with its long Mediterranean coastline and pleasant climate, is at the forefront of this development. Currently, the country has 25 marine aquaculture farms that produce between 400 and 3,500 tons per year, with seabass and sea bream accounting for 96% of the total output. Tunisia's position in the sector will be emphasized when it hosts the 3rd Aquaculture Africa Conference (AFRAQ24) in November 2024.

Ghana Gas, officially known as the Ghana National Gas Limited Company, has emerged as a cornerstone in the country's energy sector. Established in 2011, this state-owned enterprise was established to harness and manage Ghana's natural gas resources effectively. Its mission is to develop a robust and efficient natural gas infrastructure that supports Ghana's growing energy needs while fostering economic growth and sustainability. (Mission is to contribute to Ghana’s gas economic development by providing and operating the infrastructure required for gathering, processing and delivery natural gas resources, in a safe, cost effective, responsible and reliable manner to customers). From its inception, Ghana Gas has made significant strides in transforming the energy landscape of Ghana. The company's flagship project, the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant, is a testament to its commitment and vision. Located in the Western Region of Ghana, this plant is capable of processing up to 150 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, turning raw natural gas into valuable resources for power generation and industrial use.

Leadership and Excellence "The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport celebrates the delivery of certificates to renew the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and celebrates Partnership with DNV

Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, chaired by H.E. Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Faraj, received on Wednesday, 24/7/2024, the certificates to renew the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system for the Arab Academy, as well as for 7 maritime entities represented in the Maritime Excellence Center, the Maritime Examination Center, the Maritime Training Institute, the Port Training Institute, the Regional Institute of Maritime Security, Institute of Maritime Safety, and the Diving Program, in addition to Productivity and Quality Institute for the next three years. The new certificate's scope has been extended to include the College of Computers and Information Technology across four branches and the College of Management and Technology in the Misr EL Gedida branch.

DNV-Certified: Eco-friendly football stadium takes root in Lesotho

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – 2 APRIL 2024 – Lesotho in southern Africa is poised to welcome a groundbreaking 1,280-seater football stadium constructed primarily from sustainably sourced timber, dubbed the Stadium of Life. Located in the country’s capital of Maseru, this innovative project, which harnesses timber's renewability and carbon storage properties, stems from a collaboration between local charity and football club Kick4Life (K4L), non-profit organisation Relationships Inspiring Social Enterprise (rise International), the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), and international certification body DNV.
